6 - 12 " Mini Quilt Swap

My delightful Mini Quilt arrived all the way from Canada! Made by Jill, it is simply so cute! 3 yoyo flowers and a little worm poking out of the ground, he is attached to elastic so if you give him a gentle tug he pops back in!!
I love Joel Dewberry fabric, and look at all the quilting showing up on the back.
Muffin loves it too. But not as much as Cate who snaffled it just after this photo to display in her room.
Jill doesn't have a blog but you can see her Flickr pic's here. Many thanks Jill, we all love your mini quilt!

WIP ~ Table Runner

A practice run for the EB table runner swap. This one is staying here, super easy to make, I am using fabrics left over from my Flowers For Thee quilt. Cut and pieced in less than an hour, this pattern is from the book A Passion for Patchwork by Lise Bergene.

Hoot Hoot

I have had a thing for Owls recently. I saw the cutest Owl Softie at the Craft Fair and I was so suprised that the pattern was from a Handmade Magazine (Vol 25 No 8). I really think the Owl should of been on the cover, many more copies would be sold if he was!!Anyway, using my Summer in the City fabric, I think he looks great, a bugger to make but we got there in the end! Designed by Annalisse Wakenshaw, there are 3 styles to make, this is Stripe. A small modification, I filled his feet with pellets to provide a little weight and assist him in sitting upright on his own.My original plan was to make 10 for Teachers gifts this Christmas but I am not sure if they suit, as Owl = Librarian and Teacher = Apple, so I will see if I can find something else. (I don't want to make quilts this year due to the high number of Teacher and Aides in the 3 classrooms). And for cuteness value, here's a pic of Muffin taking a nap while I was putting Hoot Hoot together.

Calisthenics Aesthetics Skirt

Cate needed a long dance skirt for Calisthenics, it's just worn for practice so the girls can choose whatever colour they like.
When I asked Cate which colour she would like she said she wanted the Pinkest of Pinks.

I bought some chiffon for $2.50 a metre and matching threads, just a simple circle skirt with an elastic waist. I used my sewing machine to make a rolled hem and was quite happy with how it turned out.

Happy little dancer.

WIP ~ Mini Quilt Swap

I signed up for a Flicker Mini Quilt Swap. It's a direct swap so we know our partners, just a sneap peak so the suprise is not spoiled. Bright pink mini flying geese, all foundation pieced for accuracy. Quilt measures aprox 7 x 9 inches, I just have to add the binding and a label. The pic is hurting my eyes !!
